Why train with an independent?
Why train part 61? For a while when the airlines were desperate for pilots training part 141 had a small advantage. Pilots qualified for ATP kicenses at 1200 total flight hours instead of the 1500 hours required with other training. People looking for an airline career could get a jump by training in a part 141 program. This is no longer the case though. airline hiring has returned to normal and to get considered for a job most pilots will need 2000 hours or more.
Part 141 training also had big disadvantages. Since students were charged a flat fee, part 141 programs are incentivized to get you in and out with the minimum hours in their airplanes possible. This often leads to check ride failures which are a permanent black mark on your record. Also minimum flight time is not what you want. The chance of getting hired at 250 hours flight time is basically non existant.
